As per new regulations of Alexandria Port Authority in effect starting from 1st January 2021,
waste disposal (solid and liquid) is compulsory for vessels calling Alexandria and Dekheila ports.
– TYPE OF WASTES ARE AS FOLLOW:
- MARPOL Annex I – OIL
- MARPOL Annex II – NLS
- MARPOL Annex IV – SEWAGE
- MARPOL Annex V – GARBAGE
- MARPOL Annex VI – AIR POLLUTION
1.Advance Notification Form: Masters are requested to fill and resend to Agent by minimum 48 hrs prior
arrival or exceptionally upon sailing from the last port case time distance between last port and port of arrival
is less than 24 hrs. This filled form to be submitted in due time as above mentioned to Alexandria Port authority together
with berthing request as an official notification with specific quantities of one or more of
above wastes to be disposed. (Click here for the form)
2.Service Evaluation Form to be filled / signed / stamped by Master after service is rendered
which is to be handed to our boarding representative before sailing to be passed to Alex Port authority . (click here for the form)
3.Receipt by Service Provider: It is issued by service provider after completion of the disposal with
quantities actually disposed for submission to Port Auth.
A signature / stamp by the vessel on this document would be required as a confirmation of quantity disposed.(Click here for the form)
4.Waste Free Certificate: After wastes are disposed this certificate is issued by Port authority and delivered
to vsl via Service Provider before sailing. (Click here for the form)
Fyg, special committees will be in charge of inspecting vsls at port. Such committees will ensure all
ships are complying with abv regulations and for any ship not complying, those ships will be fined.
This compulsory garbage disposal cost to be settled against a tariff which is still in process of setting by Alexandria
Port Authority. All vsls disposal of wastes starting 01.01.2021 will be settled against this tariff when officially
published even after the service is rendered.
